Christian Community Standards
PCU is a community of believers learning together before God. Every student agrees, as a condition of enrollment, to uphold these standards in all PCU activities, including online forums, live sessions, messages, and social media that identifies the University. Students come from every Christian tradition and are not required to sign the Statement of Faith; they are expected to respect it.
- Honesty: tell the truth, submit only your own work, and represent your PCU studies and credentials accurately.
- Respect and love: speak and write with grace and honor the dignity of every person; harassment, threats, bullying, and abusive language are prohibited.
- Purity: conduct your life and relationships according to biblical teaching on sexuality and marriage in the Statement of Faith, and do not post or share sexually explicit material on any PCU platform.
- Sobriety and lawful conduct: obey the law, do not misuse alcohol or drugs in connection with PCU activities, and do not take part in PCU activities while impaired.
- Stewardship: respect intellectual property, protect the privacy of classmates, and use PCU systems only as permitted.
- Accountability and restoration: when a student falls short, PCU seeks repentance and restoration as well as accountability.
Harassment and Sexual Misconduct
Harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, stalking, bullying, threats, and abusive or demeaning communication on any PCU platform, is prohibited for students, faculty, staff, and volunteers. Report it to the Dean of Faculty or, if the Dean is involved, to the Office of the President at info@paragonchristianuniversity.com or 800-444-5587. PCU acknowledges a report within 5 business days, protects the person reporting, investigates promptly and impartially, and decides the matter in writing. Retaliation is prohibited. PCU reports suspected abuse of minors or vulnerable adults to the civil authorities as the law requires.
Disciplinary Procedure
A student facing disciplinary action receives written notice of the alleged violation and the supporting evidence. The student may respond in writing or request a virtual meeting within 10 business days.
A written decision is issued by the Dean of Faculty or a designee not involved in the original matter, within 15 business days. Sanctions are proportionate to the violation and may range from a warning to dismissal. The student has the right to appeal.
If a student is dismissed, any refund due is calculated from the dismissal date in accordance with the Refund Policy on the Tuition & Aid page.
Appeals Procedure
A student may submit a written appeal to the Office of the President at info@paragonchristianuniversity.com within 15 calendar days of the decision being appealed.
The President appoints an Appeals Committee of at least two people who were not involved in the original decision. The Committee issues a written decision within 30 days. The decision is final within Paragon Christian University. Sanctions are generally stayed during the appeal.
